Welcome to The Guru Gazette. This website and domain name was originally set up with the intention of creating a resource of happenings in the Internet Marketing industry. I had originally planned to write executive summary style entries here, covering new product launches, Joint Venture partnerships, new affiliate programs, sales and specials, and so on. These summaries were meant to be condensed info bites that would help others keep up with what was happening in this fast moving industry.
It didn’t take long for me to realize I couldn’t keep up with it all though, so I ended up providing affiliate marketing information, tutorials, tools and resources instead.
After yet another bout of server problems and lost data, I’ve decided to start it over yet again. And that’s why this text is here…
I’ve been involved with affiliate marketing since it’s birth back around 1996. Many people believe Amazon was the creator of the affiliate marketing concept but I know for a fact that’s not the case because I was involved with another company doing it before Amazon. It’s not important anymore of course, but I mention it to emphasize how long I’ve been involved in this industry.
I’ve been an active, earning affiliate marketer since the beginning, and I’ve been an affiliate program manager as well. I’ve also helped design and launch affiliate programs as a consultant over the years, and I’ve provided training and guidance for many, many others wanting to get started as an affiliate marketer too.
Teaching the same things over and over again for more than ten years has worn on me. I’ve become burnt out a couple of times and went behind the scenes to just concentrate on my own websites. You see, for the better part of the last 3-4 years I’ve kept up my affiliate marketing resources as a hobby only. I’ve never cared for the “make money teaching others to make money” guru approach to online business. My “real business” is websites, freelance writing, and stock photography.
I am an active domain name investor and website builder. Sometimes I build and sell websites, other times I’ll buy and hold excellent domains to sell at a profit later. My favorite types of websites to build are those which make money from selling affiliate products, and getting clicks through the Google Adsense affiliate program.
Unfortunately I can’t seem to help myself from trying to help others though. When I see some of the so called “experts” online pushing hundred and thousand dollar “courses” to unknowing yet hopeful people, it gets under my skin. I absolutely believe in investing… in yourself, your business, and your future. But I don’t like “products” which tantalize, hype, BS, and try to push you into buying yet another. All the while barely helping you move forward with your own success.
It’s those types of trends in the Internet Marketing industry which made me start offering tools and ready made products. I started offering plug and play turn key websites, and moved on to offering Private Label ebooks and articles. From there I started offer software – actual programs which would let you really get started with DOING something instead of running around in circles. My tools are a bit advanced though, and I realize some people just aren’t ready for something that powerful. Putting them into action is also a solid commitment to making a real effort as well, and not everyone is ready to make that commitment.
So, since I need to clean this site up yet again anyway, I’ve decided to try and backtrack a little bit. I’m going to start an online tutorial, or book if you will, which will attempt to share all of the affiliate marketing knowledge I’ve learned and taught over the years. Unlike other “handbooks” however, I will try to cover the many various approaches to making money with affiliate products. I will tell you what’s worked for me of course, and the bulk of my knowledge is in those areas since that’s where I have the most experience. I’ll also however, try to ensure you’re aware of the other methods, techniques and options too.
Part of the problem with starting an online business is having too much information and too many choices though, so I’ll warn you from the start: Reading this book might make you even more confused and undecided than you ever were before.
I’m also going to be blunt about my intentions… I want to make money from this work. I don’t want to get you on a mailing list though, because though they can be useful I don’t particularly care for them much. I also do not at the moment intend to package this into a book or course that you will have to pay for before you can even check it out. I feel there is much more income potential from having this information online and free. Online means hundreds of thousands of people can find it and refer to it, and free means I can run advertising here. And yes I fully expect you to visit the advertisers
That is the best way to say “thank you” for the information, and it’s the best way for you to really compare the wide variety of products and services out there.
I fully intend to recommend various tools and resources too. And no I will not be impartial about it. I will point to my own tools and resources whenever it’s applicable, and I’ll link to other resources using an affiliate link when possible too. This is here to make me money remember?
So, if you don’t feel people have the right to make money online then please close the door quietly behind you as you leave, and don’t bother trying to make your own money online either because what goes around comes around.
Now, with all that said, this is a large piece of work which will take time to complete. As of July 2009 I am traveling the country, working from a solar powered laptop. Solar power is wonderful but sometimes it means I have just two hours each day to get work done. And my method of travel is a bit primitive: We’re camping a week or two at a time in National Forest areas. That means there is no cell phone service and no Internet access. We have a Jeep Cherokee and in mid-August we picked up a small cargo trailer which we’re now slowly converting into a compact camper.
I’m actually writing this sitting in the back of that camper in the middle of a thick wild forest in Eastern Georgia
I mention all this because:
A) I love it ![]()
B) There may be lag time between entries here.
You’re welcome to spend the lag time browsing through the various affiliate links and advertisers of course though
If you’re curious about the various tools and products I’ve made available here over the years, you’ll find a list of my most popular ones right here: Affiliate Profit Tools. Many of these items can still be purchased directly from me, and the cash from those sales helps us continue traveling and eating on a regular basis
BTW: Just to be sure there are no misunderstandings here… I am not perfect, I’m not a millionaire, and there are many different ways to do things. Some of the things I do may directly contradict what others may tell you, and some may not. I can only share with you my actual experiences from over the years.
I also have a low tolerance for bullshit. I can sell the sizzle with the best of them but I firmly believe in having a thick juicy steak behind the scenes too.

How to create an Powerful Landing Page — The landing page on you website ought to be one of your most important pages and many corporate websites just send everyone to the home page and ends up distracting the customer from the purpose of your campaign. Effective internet marketers employ landing pages to seize qualified prospects and create sales. Website landing pages are a kin to the drop displays you see in the middle of the isle in the grocery store promoting a specific product and and telling the customers that they better buy it before it is gone. A successful landing page focused on a single product or service can substantially increase leads and conversion rates. One of the primary strengths of developing a landing page focused to one product is that you can keep track of your website’s visitors and conversions more simply and determine your ROAI (return on advertising investment). Use web analytics to recognize and eliminate any obstacles that the customer may have. Modest adjustments can make your promotion more effective. Metwell.com can help you design the optimum landing page for your advertising promotion.
Hello I would like to know where you got this site template from I adore it!
Kathy,
Thank you, Kathy, for your dedication and authentic service to the independent small business entrepreneurs out here! I luckily happened into your “Affiliate Marketing Profits” relaunching website.
Later this year I will start my online social media blog and build my website. Once I have a good following, rapport and credibility, then begin affiliate marketing. Or, at least, that’s how I think it might work. Since I’m fuzzy about how these resources and opportunities actually work, I will seek out your online research, experience and wisdom.
BTW, I’m a part-time professional photographer and outdoor enthusiast as well. Good luck to you in your endeavors at painting a realistic picture and course of action with honest altruistic advice.
Cheers,
Hans Sawyer
